Maryland Voice Actor for Businesses, Agencies & Producers
I'm Jason McCoy, a full-time professional male voice actor based on Maryland's Eastern Shore. For more than 20 years I've voiced commercials, corporate videos, e-learning and explainers for brands like Apple, Bank of America, Amazon, Walmart and Great Wolf Lodge, and for small businesses right here in Maryland. I record in my own professional studio and usually deliver finished audio within one day.
Who can voice our business video if we're in Maryland?
You can hire a Maryland-based professional who records remotely and delivers broadcast-ready audio, with no studio booking or travel. I work with companies in Baltimore, Annapolis, Columbia, Frederick, Rockville, Salisbury, Ocean City and across Delmarva, plus Washington, DC, Delaware and Northern Virginia. You send the script, I record it, and you get clean files ready for your video, ad or course.
Being local helps when you want someone who knows the region, pronounces town names correctly, or can join a call on your schedule.
What kind of voice does our company video actually need?
The right voice depends on what the video has to do. A sales video needs energy and a clear call to action. A training video needs a calm, steady pace people can follow for 20 minutes. A brand story needs warmth and trust.
My natural sound is a friendly, conversational American male voice, the "guy next door" who explains things clearly. I can also go confident and corporate, upbeat and promotional, or relaxed and documentary. If you're not sure, I'll record your script a couple of ways in a free audition so you can hear the difference before you decide.

We tried an AI voice or recorded it ourselves. Why doesn't it sound right?
Most DIY and AI voiceovers miss the same things: emphasis on the right words, natural pauses, and a tone that matches the brand. AI voices often stress the wrong syllable, mispronounce local names and product terms, and keep the same flat energy from start to finish. Self-recorded audio usually has room echo and background noise that make a polished video feel amateur.
A professional fixes both. I interpret the script the way a listener needs to hear it, and I deliver clean, edited audio from a treated studio. See how an AI voice compares to a human voice actor.
What if we've never hired a voice actor before?
It's simpler than most people expect. Here's how it works:
- Send your script. Paste it into the audition form, or tell me what the project is.
- Hear a free sample. I record part of your script so you can judge the fit.
- Approve and record. I record the full script and edit it into clean, polished audio.
- Get your files. Usually within one day, in whatever format your editor needs.
- Pay by invoice. Credit card, PayPal or check.
You don't need to know audio terms. Tell me where the video will run and I'll handle the technical side.
Can we direct the recording session live?
Yes. You can join live over Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Source-Connect and give direction as I record. Most clients skip it and give notes on the first take instead, which is also fine.
How fast can we get finished audio?
Most scripts are delivered within one business day. Short projects like a :30 spot or a phone greeting are often done the same day. Long-form narration such as e-learning courses or audiobooks is scheduled by length.
